The website pop-up
Ask your question on your own website as a small pop-up.
The website pop-up shows your survey as a small panel on your own website. It comes with Pro. On Free, you can set it up and preview it.
Setting it up
- Open the survey's Share page and find Website pop-up.
- Under Your websites, add the address of each website that will show it. The pop-up only appears on websites you've listed.
- Choose When to show it: after a few seconds on the page, after scrolling part of the way down, or only when a visitor taps a Feedback tab.
- Choose where it sits on a computer, bottom right or bottom left. On phones it floats just above the bottom of the screen.
- Copy the code and paste it into your website just before the closing body tag, ideally in a footer that every page shares. The Share page has steps for WordPress, Squarespace, Wix and Shopify.
Settings you change later apply straight away, without touching your website again.
How it behaves
- Someone who has answered doesn't see it again for 90 days.
- If a visitor closes it, you choose when it comes back: after 7, 30 or 90 days.
- Answers from the pop-up appear in your results with everything else. Your results page shows how many came from the pop-up and which page they were on.
Note: To remember when someone closed or answered it, the pop-up keeps a small note in the visitor's browser for up to 90 days. By default it only does this after the visitor agrees in your website's cookie tool: the Share page gives you two lines to add to it. Until they agree, the pop-up won't come back on the page they're on, but it may on their next visit. Under Remember visitors you can also choose Always (mention it in your cookie notice, using the wording the Share page gives you) or Never.
