Our aim
Everyone should be able to answer a Tinysurv survey and run their own, whatever device they use and however they use it. We build Tinysurv to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard most organisations and laws point to.
What that means for you
- Readable text. Text and its background contrast enough to read easily, in light mode and dark mode. When a business picks its own colour for a survey, Tinysurv chooses dark or white text on it automatically so it stays readable.
- Everything works with a keyboard. You can reach and use every button, link and form with the Tab, Enter, Space and arrow keys, and you can always see where you are.
- Works with screen readers. Buttons, fields and charts have clear names, headings show how each page is organised, and messages such as “Saved” or an error are read out when they appear.
- Big enough to tap. Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels across, so they’re easy to hit on a phone.
- Zoom and resize. Pages work when zoomed to 200% and on screens as narrow as 320 pixels, without scrolling sideways.
- Less motion if you prefer. If your device is set to reduce motion, Tinysurv’s animations switch off.
- Light or dark. Tinysurv follows your device’s setting, and owners can switch it.
- Charts you don’t have to see. Every chart on the results page can be read with the keyboard, and switched to a plain table.
- Plain English. We keep wording short and clear, and never rely on colour alone to say something.
- The printable QR code poster is designed for paper. It works through a QR code, so it also shows the survey’s web address in full for anyone who can’t scan one.
How we check
- Every change to Tinysurv is tested automatically before it goes live. An accessibility checker (axe) scans every main page, in light and dark mode, including surveys in a range of brand colours from near-black to near-white.
- Automated tests also use key tasks with only a keyboard, and check pages on phone-sized screens, so that nothing gets stuck or cut off.
- Colour contrast is checked against the WCAG ratios every time our colours change.
Automated tools can only find some problems, so we treat them as a safety net, not a guarantee. Tinysurv hasn’t yet been audited by an independent accessibility specialist; we plan to do that.
What we know isn’t perfect yet
- Payments are handled by Paddle in its own checkout window, which we don’t control.
- Website pop-ups appear on businesses’ own websites. The pop-up itself meets the same standard, but the rest of the website is up to that business.
Tell us about a problem
If something on Tinysurv is hard to use, or you need anything in a different format, please contact us. Tell us the page and what happened. We read every message and will reply, and we’ll fix problems as quickly as we can.
