Questions

What business owners usually ask before they start. For step by step guides, see the help guide. Anything else, send us a message.

The people you ask

Do people need an app or an account?
No. They scan the QR code or open the link on their own phone and tap an answer. There's nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.
How long does it take them?
A few seconds: one tap to answer, an optional comment if you've switched the comment box on, then a thank-you.
Can one person answer lots of times?
Each phone can answer each survey once a day, so one enthusiastic (or grumpy) person can't swamp your results. There are also limits on how many answers can come from one network in a day.
Do you collect names or emails?
No. We don't ask people for their name or email, and we don't keep their IP address with their answer. If someone chooses to write their name in a comment, that's up to them.

Setting up and sharing

How do I share a survey?
Every survey gets a short link, a QR code (PNG and SVG) and a printable QR code poster. Send the link in a message, an email or a receipt, put the poster up where people will see it, and on Pro show it as a pop-up on your own website.
Can I share it on social media?
Yes, on Free. The Share page has one-tap buttons for WhatsApp, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and email, or you can copy the link and paste it anywhere. The link shows a preview with your question, logo and colour.
Can I use it at an event?
Yes. Put your QR code poster by the exit, on a slide or on a badge, and people answer as they leave. Give each session its own survey to see how each one went.
Can I use it on my website?
Yes, on Pro. Add one line of code and your question appears as a small pop-up. Visitors answer without leaving the page.
What's the website pop-up?
One line of code that shows your question as a small pop-up on your own website, after a few seconds, part of the way down the page, or from a Feedback tab. It comes with Pro. On Free you can set it up and preview it.
Can I show my score on my website?
Yes, on Pro. Turn on a public score page for one survey and you get a page at tinysurv.com/r/your-business, plus a badge for your website that links to it. The score shows once you have 20 ratings from the last 12 months. Comments are never shown. See your public score page.
Can I choose which ratings count towards my score?
No. Every rating from the last 12 months counts, good or bad, and the page says how they were collected. If you delete ratings while it's on, the page shows how many.
Is Tinysurv a form builder?
No, and it won't become one. Tinysurv does surveys, not forms: one question about how people felt, answered in seconds, from a QR code poster, a link or a pop-up on your website. If you need sign-ups, bookings or long questionnaires, a form builder is the better tool.
Can I ask more than one question?
Each survey asks one question: that's what keeps it quick enough that people actually answer. You can run several surveys, for different places, products or times of day: up to 3 on Free, and as many as you need on Pro (fair use).
Can I change the question once it's live?
The wording and the answer style lock once the first answer arrives, so every result is comparable. Your logo, colour, comment box and whether it's open stay editable. For a different question, make a new survey.
Can I use my logo and colours?
Yes. Add your logo and pick a brand colour; the survey's buttons follow it, with text kept readable.
Does Tinysurv add its name to my survey?
Only a small “Made with Tinysurv” link on the thank-you screen, after someone has answered, and along the bottom of the QR code poster. Never on the question itself. On Pro you can remove it from any survey with the “Remove Tinysurv branded link” switch in the survey editor.

Plans and payment

Can I pay for Pro yet?
Not yet: Pro is coming soon, at the price on the pricing page. Until then, Free has unlimited responses, so nothing is held back while you wait.
Is Tinysurv really free?
Yes. Free has unlimited responses, up to 3 surveys, the link and QR code, a printable QR code poster, and the live dashboard with CSV export. No card, no time limit.
What does Pro add?
The website pop-up, low-rating alerts and a Monday summary by email, a public score page with a badge for your website, PDF export, unlimited surveys (fair use), and the option to remove the Tinysurv link. It's £15 a month, or £150 a year, which costs ten months' price, so two months are free.
What does unlimited mean?
No limit on responses for normal use by one business, on every plan. As a guide, that's up to 10,000 responses a month. Your surveys never stop taking answers: if an account goes well past that, a person at Tinysurv takes a look and gets in touch first. Pro's unlimited surveys work the same way: past 100 surveys, a person takes a look, and nothing stops.
Can I change plan or cancel?
Any time, from Plan and billing, including switching between monthly and yearly. Changes start straight away. If you cancel, Pro runs to the end of the month or year you've paid for, then you're on Free.
Do you give refunds?
Payments aren’t refunded, except for mistakes on our side or where the law requires it, so try Tinysurv on Free first. See the refund policy.
Who handles payment?
Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle takes the payment securely, adds VAT where it applies and sends your invoices. We never see your card details.

Privacy and your data

Who owns the answers?
You do. You decide what to ask and what to do with the answers; we look after them on your behalf. Our terms, data processing agreement and privacy notice have the details.
Where is Tinysurv based?
In the UK. Tinysurv is made for anyone who wants quick feedback, and the service is hosted on servers in London. The privacy notice lists every company that helps run it.
Is it GDPR-friendly?
We never ask people for their name or email, every survey shows them a short privacy notice, and you can export your responses or delete them at any time. Please don't use a survey to ask for sensitive information such as health details.
Can I delete responses?
Yes: one at a time or every response to a survey, from its results page. Deleting your account removes your surveys and all their responses.
Do I need a cookie banner for my survey?
No. Your survey only stores what it needs to work, which doesn’t need consent. Our own website asks before using Google Analytics, but that never applies to your surveys. The cookies page lists everything, including what the website pop-up stores.
